ModularSynth is a modular synthesizer that runs in your web browser. You put modules in a rack (oscillators, filters, envelopes, sequencers, effects…), connect them with patch cables, and build your own sounds, then your own tracks. It is free, with no install, no account and no tracking cookies.
A patch is the set of your modules and cables: your instrument of the moment. A preset is a ready-made patch. The other words are in Modular words.
New to this? Start with your first sound, then follow the Learn course: it guides you step by step, from your first sound to a real track.

What you can do
- Patch 38 modules: sources, filters, envelopes, LFOs, sequencers, effects, a sampler, an audio input, spatial audio. Each one has its page in the modules.
- Work in the 2D view, the flat rack where you see everything at a glance, or in the 3D studio, a room where you plug cables in by hand.
- Play with your computer keyboard, the on-screen keyboard or real MIDI keyboards, with pitch bend, mod wheel and up to 16 voices.
- Loop patterns with the sequencers, then build a full track with scenes.
- Place each sound around you with spatial audio: stereo, binaural headphones or 5.1 / 7.1.
- Record a WAV of what comes out of the speakers, keep your patches in your library and share them with a link.
- Let an AI like Claude build and play a patch with you.
Learn by playing
New to synths? The Learn course guides you through 5 chapters and 23 short exercises, from your first sound to a full track. Every step tells you what you are about to hear, so you understand what each knob and cable does. You can also start from one of the 27 presets.
Everything stays with you
