The Learn course teaches modular synthesis by ear, right inside the synth. In 5 chapters and 23 short exercises, you start from an empty rack and end up with a real track.
How it works
Click Learn in the top bar and pick a chapter. A guide gives you one instruction at a time: add a module, patch a cable, turn a knob. What you need to touch lights up, and Show me does it for you if you get stuck. Every step tells you what you are about to hear, then why.
To understand a knob, you sweep it from one end to the other; Hold a note keeps the sound going while you turn. If you take a detour, the guide explains it without blocking you, and you pick up where you left off after a reload.
The chapters
Each chapter has its page, with its exercises and a button to start it:
- From signal to sound: from your first sound to an instrument you play on the keyboard.
- Understand by playing: six experiments on the big ideas of modular.
- The machine plays by itself: a bass and drums on a loop.
- Your song: chords, echo and reverb, your first full track.
- A gritty sound: a saturated, hypnotic track at 130 BPM.
The exercises happen in the 2D view.
