ModularSynth can place each sound around you: in front, behind, above, close by or far away.
The Spatial module
Plug a sound into a Spatial module. Its top view shows where it is. An LFO on Direction makes it circle around you. To hear it right away, open the Circling pads preset: three pads crossing around you.
Three outputs
In ⚙ Settings, under Output:
- Stereo, for speakers.
- Headphones (binaural): sound is placed all around your head. It relies on real head measurements (KEMAR head) from the University of York’s Audio Lab.
- Multichannel 5.1 or 7.1, if your hardware supports it.
In the 3D studio
In the 3D studio, the sound comes from the room’s four speakers and follows your gaze. With headphones in binaural, the effect is striking.
